Q:	What is the difference between Web Design and Web Hosting?
A:	"Web Design" is a one time fee to develop the look and feel of your website. "Web Hosting" is a monthly fee to store your web design on a computer that is connected to the internet 24x7 so others can browse your site.

A:	Web Design is the construction, development, artwork and layout of your website. This is best done by someone who has creative artistic talent. If someone is a technical guru does not mean they are a good web designer. Most creative web designers are NOT the people that do the actual web development.
Q:	What is Web Hosting?
A:	Web Hosting is a service where you pay a monthly fee to have your website sitting on a computer so it is visible to the world. It's like paying rent to have a store in a Mall. This monthly fee is usually paid annually in advance.
Q:	Why can't I host my own website on my own computer at home?
A:	Actually you can, providing you have everything your ISP has. Most people do not have the time or resources to do this properly. Your website must be able to have (lets say) 50 people connected to it at one time, and none of these people should suffer a slow down in speed. Your website must be on-line all the time, and have strategic plans in place if there is an electrical blackout, hard disk failure, attack from a hacker, etc. A good ISP provides all this plus 24x7 technical staff to make sure your website is always up and running.

A:	URL stands for "Uniform Resource Locator" and is the actual name you type into your computer browser to get to someone's website. KillerWhale's URL is "www.KillerWhale.NET" You do NOT need a website to own your own URL. You CAN have your own URL redirected to another website name.
Q:	What is an ISP?
A:	ISP stands for "Internet Service Provider" and is a company that specializes in having your website visible and accessible to anyone at anytime. Your website will reside on the ISP's computers.
